Alcira Phinisi (Captain Komodo)

In South Sulawesi in 2017, the traditional wooden phinisi boat known as Alcira was constructed. It can fit up to 12 people in its current configuration. We wanted to provide our guests a sense of room and comfort that we felt was lacking on many boats in Labuan Bajo when we created Alcira Phinisi. We made the most of every square inch to provide tranquil spaces where you may unwind while taking in the scenery, reading a book, or napping in preparation for your next journey.

The Phinisi

Traditionally, Ironwood and Indonesian Teak have been used to construct Alcira. Additionally, it is outfitted with all current safety gear, such as fire extinguishers, a liferaft, lifejackets, marine radio, GPS, and satellite phones.

With a maximum of 12 passengers onboard, she is quite suitable for small parties at 26 meters long and 4.2 meters wide.

Our onboard engineer maintains the six-cylinder engine, which has a cruising speed of 12 knots. Alcira can transport you quickly and comfortably throughout the Komodo Archipelago.

Alcira has a solar system that is up to date with modern technologies. Onboard power was available all day long thanks to this. There are 30 solar panels on the roof of Alcira. The sun’s energy charges 12 batteries and produces enough electricity to run all of your devices at any time. Moreover, it features a generator. While you sleep in your air-conditioned rooms, it will start and stop automatically for a few hours each night to replenish the batteries.

In addition to 1 tonne of fuel to run our primary engine and generator, we have 4 tonnes of fresh water on board.

The Food

Every day, our chef will make four excellent meals for you. You can take pleasure in either our salon or our deck, where you can dine beneath the stars at night or take in the breathtaking beauty of your surrounds during the day. We mostly serve food with Indonesian and Asian influences, with sporadic European specialties and a filling European and American breakfast. Of course, there is a wide variety of fresh fruit, salads, and fish available.

The Package

  • Rinca
The second-largest island in the park is Rinca Island. Being home to more dragons than Komodo Island, it’s also the finest site to encounter them. However, you might also come across other wild animals like macaques, wild boars, horses, Timor deer, and water buffalo. Birds come in a wide variety as well. Three treks—one lasting an hour, one lasting two hours—will be recommended to you by the rangers. You may select any one you prefer.

We’ll have a delectable lunch before traveling to Kelor Island. The little island of Kelor is uninhabited. You may move around easily, take in the pristine beauty of nature, and delight in sightseeing. The hill can be climbed to access a breathtaking perspective of Komodo National Park. The sand is gentle, and the sea is clear. The water is home to a variety of fish species, including clown fishes with the common name Nemo. You can take stunning photos of aquatic life if you have an underwater camera.
  • Kanawa
Next, we’ll travel to Kanawa Island. It is regarded as one of south-east Asia’s most idyllic islands because of the magnificent reef that completely encircles it. You may observe countless fish species, turtles, corals, reef sharks, and occasionally manta rays just off the arrival pier when snorkeling in the clear seas at Kanawa. A hill in the island’s center provides one of the most breathtaking 360-degree views of Komodo National Park and one of the most beautiful sunsets in the entire globe.

In actuality, it is an uncommon pairing, a peculiarity of this special island.

  • Pink Beach
After that, we’ll unwind at Pink Beach in the morning, where the sand is pink. In addition, the pink hue is brought on by the combination of white calcium carbonate and the vividly red skeletons of the dead organ pipe corals that flourish there. Taking shots there at the top while you wait for sunset is a requirement. Due to its constant calmness and protection from currents and waves, the bay is in fact the ideal location for boats to spend the night.

  • Manta Point
Then we’ll head to Manta Point. The snorkeling at Manta Point is great. From only 2 meters to 9 meters of depth, reefs are present. Manta rays are enormous marine animals that can reach a width of 4 meters, making it the ideal location to observe them.

Day 4: Batu Bolong, Siaba besar(Turtles),Sebayur, Kanawa(Star Fish)

  • Batu Bolong
One of the most well-known dive sites in Komodo National Park is Batu Bolong. It appears to be merely a lone rock from the surface. But gorgeous corals surround it underwater. While snorkeling, we can observe numerous different species of aquatic life.
  • Siaba Besar
Another well-known diving area is Siaba Besar. Siaba Besar’s terrain is highly distinctive and provides the ideal environment for a wide variety of marine life. Due to the weak current, snorkeling is quite simple at this location. Turtles find sanctuary in Siaba Besar.
  • The Sebayur Kecil
We will travel to Sebayur Kecil, which faces Sebayur Besar, another island, in the morning. “Kecil” implies small and “besar” means big in Indonesian, or “bahasa.” Sebayur Kecil is a small island that provides ideal snorkeling conditions due to its big beach and one to five meter deep reef.

Day 5: Goa Rangko, Sabolan Besar

  • Rangko Cave
We will set out the next morning for the recently found Rangko Cave. You will be taken from the boat and onto the land when we get closer to the settlement of Rangko. After that, the entrance is reached after a 15-minute walk. The only other source of natural illumination for this hollow is the sun’s rays. After a short while of adjusting to the darkness, you’ll find a number of stalactites and a natural pond where you can go swimming. Fresh and brilliantly clear water is present. A magnificent natural pool, this one.
