Lombok is Waterfall Heaven
You will not only find some of the most amazing and distinctive waterfalls in all of Indonesia, but also a LOT of them. There seem to be a lot of waterfalls on Lombok because of the geography, particularly in the island’s north and centre. Those waterfalls are found in Geopark Rinjani’s deep vegetation. When touring the island, don’t miss these stunning Lombok waterfalls.

Our “Lombok Waterfall Experience” Tour to Benang Kelambo & Stokel waterfalls will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvinated, having visited one of Lombok’s most beautiful natural wonders.
Travel by private car to North Batukliang in Central Lombok Regency, admiring the beautiful terraced rice fields during the journey. Meet your local guide, who will lead you along the forest paths to some of the islands most unique and stunning waterfalls.
The Lombok Waterfall Experience tour takes you on an exploration of five seperate waterfalls, including two of Lombok’s most famous ones – Benang Stokel and Kelambu. Unlike our Mt Rinjani trekking packages, this day-trip tour demands only moderate fitness levels (if you can manage to walk for 2 hours with breaks along the way, you should be fine). Most of the trail is a dirt path, and there are some steep parts. But your guide will be on-hand to assist you if necessary. There is the opportunity to shower and swim at the waterfalls (especially Benang Kelambo, which has a man-made pool). We strongly advise taking some swimming items and towel, as well as some dry-clothes to change into after the trek (but swimming is obviously not compulsory, and it is possible to stay relatively dry should you wish to avoid the water). This day-trip tour is suitable for children, but they will have to be supervised by the parents at all times, especially in the swimming areas.
Waterfalls
- Benang Kelambo
Benang Kelambu, one of Lombok’s most enchanted waterfalls, appears to belong in a South American rainforest. It’s quite magnificent, with tiers of falls in four distinct locations and water that seems to emerge from the woods. We advise hiring a guide and signing up for a hike to the Benang Kelambu and Benang Stokel Waterfalls if you’re hesitant about coming alone or aren’t comfortable with hiking.
Two medium-sized pools have been created at the base of the falls for swimming and relaxing in the natural source’s pit. - Benang Stokel waterfall
After spending sufficient time at Benang Kelambu, we moved on to the next waterfall on our itinerary, Benang Stokel. Walking for 10 to 15 minutes will bring you to Benang Stokel Falls. We couldn’t swim when we first got there since the pool below the falls was quite shallow. However, the breathtaking forest setting, size of the falls, and rainbow beside the waterfalls were simply stunning. - Kilwun Waterfall
Kilwun Waterfall, one of the five waterfalls in this area, is my particular favourite. It is a tiny 11-meter waterfall in a narrow, wooded canyon. The Sesere Waterfall is reached after the water has plunged forcefully into a knee-high pool and slowly cascaded down the mountain. Don’t miss to take some pictures of the warm light penetrating the thick canopy of trees. - Sesere waterfall
Another little, narrower waterfall is Sesere. However, since it contains a pool that is deep enough to lay in, it’s an excellent spot to cool down. However, it isn’t deep enough to jump or actually swim. You can also stand underneath the rock and receive a free natural waterfall massage because the flow is not as strong as the other waterfalls’. - Pengkelep Udang
Pengkelep Udang waterfall has a height of around 15 meters, and this waterfall there is frequently used as a jumping location since its ponds is so large and has a roughly 3-meter-long depth. The visior can swim and leaping.
